Hi, I’m Clara!
I studied literature at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. After my studies, I spent over ten years in editorial and acquisition roles for independent and major international publishers, including Audible, and I now teach Creative Writing at Stanford University (Montag Centre).
I enjoy accompanying debut and best-selling writers alike, from early concept to final polish, always focused on strengthening each unique voice and perspective. My work spans commercial fiction (including crime, romance, young adult, new adult, fantasy, and sci-fi), narrative non-fiction, series development, and literary projects across print and audio.
As a native speaker of English, German, and French, I love working with international writers. I have also undertaken continuing professional development in sensitivity reading which has greatly informed my editorial approach to representation and inclusive storytelling.
