Edit your novel

Edit.

Did you know most manuscripts are expected to be edited before submission?
Agents and in-house editors assess whether a manuscript is ready for publication; they are not there to fix structural or stylistic issues when it comes to debut novelists. So, polishing your work before querying significantly improves its chances.

Edit offers two levels of editorial support: Creative Development and Proofreading.

What’s included

  • Creative Development combines careful line-level editing with in-depth feedback on structure, plot, logic, language, voice, literary quality, delivered through detailed margin comments throughout the manuscript.

  • Proofreading provides careful line-level editing, i.e. a clean, polished final pass for native and non-native speakers, including texts drafted with the help of AI.

Who i’ts for

  • Writers who have completed a first draft and want honest, professional editorial feedback.

  • Authors preparing a manuscript for agents, publishers, or self-publication.

  • Writers whose manuscripts have been rejected and who want to reassess, strengthen, and reposition their project before submitting again.

  • Non-native English speakers who want their novel to read naturally and idiomatically.

  • Writers who have used AI during the drafting process and want a human editor to ensure the manuscript sounds consistent, authentic, and entirely their own.

Requirements

  • Individual chapters or complete manuscripts.

Please note that longer manuscripts benefit from a lower per-word rate.
